As the years
went by , the newspaper ads for Baltimore movie theatres got more and
more interesting. No longer was a simple title and description enough.
Cut out pictures of the stars and movie company promotions were often
included in the ads.

In later years, and
as movie audiences began to decrease, ads were often smaller and shared
with theatres of the same chain.The ad to the left is from the early
1960's, when the Stanley
was known as the Stanton .

By the 1970's, "
skin flicks " were being shown at the New Theatre, as seen above in
this ad. The theatre did go back to more family rated films before it
closed for good in the 1980's.
