Baltimore Annapolis Blvd and Crain Highway Glen Burnie, Maryland  ( Anne Arundel County )   The Glen Theatre opened in 1930. While the building still stands, it is nearly impossible to recognize as the old theatre. It has been used in recent years as a mattress store.

	......................    The Glen Theatre is located on the corner of Baltimore Annapolis Blvd at Crain Highway. The entrance is at an angle, as seen in the insurance map shown above. During the summer, the Glen Theatre advised it was " Healthfully air-conditioned " . Below, you can see the old theatre's office office, which still faces Baltimore Annapolis Highway. By 1941, Glen Burnie had a second theater, the New Glen. The Glen closed around the 1960's, but the New Glen went over to X Rated films, before it finally closed down. .........
	While newspaper ads were a good method of letting people know of coming attractions, many movie theatres, including the Glen Theatre used direct mailings , such as the two mail cards shown here. They were like postcards, which would let you know what was showing in the coming weeks. These cards date back to the 1930's.
