.New Windsor, Maryland

   In 1931, New Windsor listed the Opera House as it's movie House in the Film Daily Yearbook, seating about 300, in a town that had a populatiopn of only 503 back in those days. By 1940, no listing could be found. However, by 1956, a listing in the FDY showed a listing for the Windsor Theatre.
     I am continuing to dig into the history of the Windsor and the old Opera House, perhaps one and the same ? A book by Dr Robert Headley " Maryland's Motion Picture Theaters " mentions the operating from the mid 1920's to about 1950, but adds it appears the building is no longer standing.
