The actual theatre is located to the rear of the building.
So far, Kilduff's has located two old movie houses in Hancock Maryland. The theatre above is the movie house that was built int he early 1920's from what we can tell, and was known for years as the New Theatre. The empty parking lot next to the building was once the Hancock Fire Department, who have since moved. The theatre closed years ago and the building has been used for a variety of purposes and appears to currently be vacant.

.359 Main Street ( 1910's movie house in Hancock. )
Before the 1920's, movies were shown at 359 Main Street, in the building address shown above.  The building's rear faces the Chesapeake and Ohio  ( C & O ) Canal. The address back in the 1910's was listed as 359 Main Street, but the numbers may have been changed over the years. I'm not sure under what name the 1910's Hancock town theatre went under, but I am trying to find out. Hancock also had a Opera House in the Masonic  Temple, on the second floor of the building. Part of the first floor of that building was the Post Office, that and building still stands to this day.
