Embassy Theatre is a Art Deco Theatre in downtown
Cumberland. The ads in the 1930's stated the
Embassy was " The Only Theatre in this City
Cooled by Refrigeration .", 20 and 30 Degrees Cooler
Than the Street ", and " 45 Tons of Refrigeration ".
The building is still standing, and was
recently restored. Other downtown Cumberland movie
houses included the Strand,
Maryland, Liberty, Belvedere, Empire and Garden. |
