The Aladdin ( AKA Booker T ) was a smaller theatre in West Baltimore City , which operated for several years, later going under the name of the Booker T in the 1930's. The theatre also went under the name of the New Queen for a few years. The Univeristy of Maryland Medical Complex is growing down Baltimore Street and the building was razed a few years ago and the site is currently part of the Hospital.

You would not recognize the area in the photo above after years of the University of Maryland Medical System expanding down West Baltimore Street . Here is a picture of the site in 2004.

I was able to locate old 1930's ads for the Aladdin Theatre, as seen on the below, and the Booker T, also below, where the ad mentions " Free : $40. in Groceries Every Thursday - Twice Nightly " .The third ad below, for the movie " Hold Your Man, mentions under the theatre name, " formerly the New Queen Theatre " in the ad. The University of Maryland Hospital complex has been expanding West, and the 600 and 700 blocks of West Baltimore Street have already been incorporated, and this block has been included in future plans for the hospital. As of 2010, the entire block has been included into the University of Maryland Health System. The small alley that runs along side the theatre is Amity Street.
