1619 Pennsylvania Avenue
West Baltimore City, Maryland

..

While the Royal Theatre on Pennsylvania Avenue was the most famous theatre on The Avenue, it was not the largest. That honor goes to the Regent Theatre, located in the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, just south of the Penn Hotel. The theatre survived for years, but was torn down in the late 1970's for a bowling alley called the Shake and Bake Center. While the Shake and Bake Center is a plus for the area, it is still a shame to see yet another old movie house on Pennsylvania Avenue get torn down.

Several more ads for the Regent Theatre , while below is a look at a insurance map showing the location of the old theatre, and on the right the site today.

Nothing remains of the old theatre today.
