| Theatres in the Baltimore Area built AFTER
1950. My web site Kilduffs focuses on movie theatres built before 1950 simply for the reason that I find the construction more interesting. After 1950, much of the buildings were more of a cookie cutter and box design. When I first started taking pictures for Kilduffs back in the early 1980's, I would pass by the newer theatres and not grab a picture. As time went by, I would grab a picture here and there, but I never realized that even these old theatre buildings would slowly disappear as well. As many times as I went to and passed the York Road Cinema and Perring Parkway Theatres, I have no pictures of them ( hint hint ) . As I was posting on Kilduffs, I recieved a few requests for information on these " newer " theatres. Here's what I have. ............................................................................................................................................Version 4.17 |

Built in the 1950's, the Hillendale
Theatre is on Taylor Avenue near Loch Raven. The theatre closed in the
1980's, but as reopened several times over the years. All the photos are
from my collection I took back in the 1980's and you are welcome to use however
you wish. |
| I believe this theatre
is the Glen Burnie Theatre on Ritchie Highway. |

| Beltway Plaza Twin on
Belair Road, just south of the Beltway. I saw the Rocky Horror
Picture Show here once in the 1980's, it was quite a show. I'm not
quite sure of the status of the theatre, it has opened and closed over the
years. |
