Baltimore City, Maryland ( Southeast Baltimore ) ........................................................................................ .Opened : 1910's .Closed by 1950's Seated under 500 .Seems to have been razed |

![]() Back in the 1980's, the area
around the Linwood Theatre had yet to become "part of
Canton", and the Linwood Theatre looked bad. The
theatre was quite a sight back in the day and operated
from the 1910's to the 1950's, with the marquee and
entranceway attached to the building just to the left
in the photo. The building appears to have been a
warehouse for some time, and seems to be a office now.
The photo below shows that the building had been doing
very well, in an area that has sky rocketed in
real estate values, but a visit in 2011 found it
appears a newer building is on the site, with the
Linwood having been razed.

The Linwood Theatre as it
appeared for years. In an area known as Canton, the
neighborhood has seen seen property values surge,
and those buildings that were in poor repair have been
fixed up, which included the Linwood. The building still
had the three diamond windows in place, which helps set
it off from those other buildings in the block, but in
the past few years, the building has been replaced with
a newer structure. |
