| Auto Clinic Saratoga and St Paul Street |
As often seen in old
postcards of the area, there was actually a old Chrsyler
/ Plymouth dealership on the southwest corner
of St Paul Street and Sarartoga Street, used
later as a parking garage, and then razed and a hotel
going up on the site. Old advertisements mention that the
Auto Clinic was the only repair and service
station in the Downtown area, open, nights, Sundays and
Holidays. The ad also mentioned they were Baltimore's
oldest Chrysler and Plymouth Dealer, but I haven't
found any earlier references to them as of
yet. The Service Center was located at 816 - 822 North Calvert
Street,which is still there, as a garage. |

| A.D. Anderson 2600 North Howard Street There were several Anderson dealerships listed around the City in the 1940's. The location on Howard was one, but Anderson Olds at North Avenue and Belair Road was another. During the 40's and 50's, the Belair Road area was popular for many dealersips as they moved out towards the County. Anderson Chevrolet was located at 4626 Edmondson Avenue, just west of the Edmondson Village Shopping Center, and stood for years until it was finally torn down in the 1990's, to make way for a shopping center. |

| Archway Motors Inc Edmondson Avenue at Hilton This old dealership building stood for years, and in the 1980's was finally converted into an office . It is impossible to believe the building was once a car sales lot, but they actually had cars on the roof of the building for sale which passing traffic could see. |

| City Olds 100 West North Avenue Now the site of the North Avenue Motel, the old dealership can be seen in this snowy picture, believed to have been taken back in the 1940's. City Olds moved south a few years later, to Biddle and Cathedral Street , and was the last dealership on Cathedral Street, surviving to the 1980's. |
