Here's
what we have for Boonsboro, located in Western
Maryland in Washington County: In 1931, there was a theatre in town known as the Red Men's ( above ? ) ( There was also a Red Men's in Oxford Maryland on the Eastern Shore ) . By 1938, the only theatre listed for town was the Stanley, which was listed through 1945. In 1945, there are actually two theatres listed, the State ( 9 St Paul Street) and the Leoden. A mid 1920's insurance map shows the location of the theatre in town . By 1952, the theatre name was the Boone. Before the days of motion pictures, the town also had the the Opera House, seen below and still standing. |
