4300 block of Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore
City, Maryland.

Park Heights Avenue has several old movie theaters along the strip, including the Avalon, the Uptown, and the Pimlico. The Avalon was located in the 4300 block of Park Heights Avenue, just south of West Cold Spring Lane. The Avalon opened in the late 1920's and closed down by the early 1960's, being used as a radio station office for years, before standing vacant, until it was razed in the late 1990's. The site is now a health center. |

The Avalon was used as radio studios and later as a church, before it was finally just abandoned in the 1980's. The entire 4300 block of Park Heights was torn down in the late 1990's. |
Close up look at the sunburst faces that were in each of the front windows of the Avalon Theatre. These survived well into the late 1990's, when the entire block was torn down. A fenced in grass field filled the site for years but recently a health center went up at the location. . |
