| Northwest Baltimore has several of
the more interesting movie houses, but it's the Ambassador Theatre which
is perhaps the most interesting to see. The theatre sat just above 900 people,
and the front looks much like it did when it first opened. The Art Deco
theater commands the block, and while it hasn't been a movie theater
for years, it still shines in the grace it once had had. Right across the
street was the Gwynn Movie
Theatre. Check out Kilduffs Quick Directory here at our new Tagpage. |

| The Ambassador has in recent
years, been used as a church, a beauty school, and again as a church.
The theater was built in the mid 1930's, and it's opening helped shut
down the Gwynn across
the street. The Ambassador is a real gem of a building, and the
exterior has survived the years quite well although the interior, from
what I understand, has been completely gutted. July 2009 rumors are
the building is up for auction, but as of 2010, noone has bought the building. The
building still stands as of 2010. |
